Visiting a farmers market is always a great way to spend a day. The produce is fresh, the people are friendly, and you know you’re getting a fair price for some amazing goods. Plus, they’re a great way to feel good about directly supporting local growers! Thanks to Florida’s fantastic weather and large number of local farms, our farmers markets are among the best in the country. Wednesday Pier Farmers Market (Wednesdays)

The Wednesday Pier Market is one of St. Augustine’s favorite outdoor bazaars. (www.contentbeta.com) Visitors are invited to stop by from 8 am – noon every Wednesday. Local growers, crafters, artisans and other vendors fill St. John’s County Beach Pier Park with fresh local wares certain to delight and surprise. When you go, you can look forward to just-picked produce, fresh seafood, ready-to-eat prepared meals, and awesome arts and crafts.

Amphitheatre Farmers Market (Saturdays)

Every Saturday, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre is the site of one of the best markets in the state. When you go, you’ll discover an abundance of produce, handmade jewelry and accessories, baked goods, freshly caught seafood, cheese, and more. Depending on the day, you may also encounter the St. John’s County Library Bookmobile, cooking demonstrations, live music, public Yoga classes, and a host of other unique happenings.

Nocatee Farmers Market (Every Third Saturday)

This monthly market sets itself apart with a monthly theme — so in addition to the so-fresh-it-squeaks produce, homemade preserves, baked goods, plants and more, you’re also in store for some completely unique items based on the motif. Special activities abound here, as well. So if you like a side of entertainment along with your armful of goodies, you’re in luck. The festivities commence beginning at 10 a.m.

Coconut Barrel Artisan Market

While not strictly a farmers market, Coconut Barrel nonetheless deserves a mention due to the abundance of unique goods, and the maker-direct pricing. While you’ll certainly find plenty of delicious consumables here, you’ll also discover some other great taste. Coconut Barrel specializes in offering guests one-of-a-kind gifts, home décor, jewelry, clothing, accessories, and even handmade clothing. You never know what you’ll find!

County Line Produce

Fruits and vegetables simply don’t get fresher than what you’ll find at County Line. Serving the area since 1965, this incredible locals’-favorite stop is centrally located at the nexus of several local growers’ farms. Because of this, the quality of the goods here is as “just picked” as it’s possible to find. If you’re on the hunt for bursting-with-flavor watermelons, cauliflower, apples, and even romanesco broccoli, County Line has all of it and more.

Vilano Beach Artisan Market (Every Third Saturday)

Nearby Vilano Beach is the home of this magnificent marketplace, which is notable for its “never the same twice” approach. Looking for unique art? Conversation-starting home décor? Room-brightening plants? It’s all here. Of course, no market is complete without great things to eat, so make sure to bring a few extra reusable bags to cart home the homemade preserves, hot sauces and baked goods it’s always so hard to resist.
