John Fogerty

Sunday, February 23, 2020 February 23, 2020 St. George Inn

American singer/songwriter, award-winning guitarist, and rock icon John Fogerty is returning to St. Augustine for a live concert at the Amphitheatre on Sunday, February 23, 2020. He will be celebrating his 50th anniversary in music on this World Tour.

Fogerty's early career began with the popular rock band, Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), and he is now a solo recording artist. Fogerty was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, won a Grammy Award for his album Blue Moon Swamp in 1997, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005. He is celebrating his 50th anniversary in music on his World Tour now.

Creedence Clearwater Revival started as The Golliwogs in 1965 and their singles were largely ignored by the music community. Then in 1967, after Fogerty was discharged from the United States military, the band changed their name to Creedence Clearwater Revival. The band was responsible for some of the best known songs in rock and roll, including "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," and "Fortunate Son."

John Fogerty has been recording solo since the 1980s, with numerous hits that include "Change in the Weather," "Rock and Roll Girls," and "Centerfield," which was honored during the 2010 National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies—the first time the National Baseball Hall of Fame has immortalized a musician or song as part of the annual ceremonies. He's also called the "Father of the Flannel Shirt."
