St. Augustine Aquarium, Zoos and Animal Experiences

Florida’s rich ecological history is one that stretches back even further than its human past. A dizzying number of different native species comprise the region’s rich biodiversity, and that’s reflected in the large number of opportunities visitors have to experience wildlife encounters in and around the area. If you or one of your traveling party members is an animal enthusiast, you owe it to yourself to check out St. Augustine Aquarium, the Alligator Farm Zoological Park, and other fantastic area attractions. Here are some of our favorites.

St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park

Florida is notorious for our ‘gators, and this fascinating attraction is one of Florida’s longest running attractions. The park is home to a wide range of exhibits featuring exotic fauna such as sloths, lemurs, African birds, massive Galapagos tortoises, and — of course — the eponymous big lizards. The park also offers conservation education, a fantastic gift shop, a fossil exhibit, and a zipline. Check out the reptiles Florida made famous.
