Get a Whole New Perspective

If you’re looking to continue your seafaring-themed adventures, the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum offers families a fantastic peek into the nautical navigation of days gone by. Originally built in 1874, the lighthouse overlooks Salt Run bay and beautiful Conch Island. The museum portion features informative and entertaining exhibits on the area’s portside past.

Go Back in Time 

In many ways, St. Augustine’s Colonial Quarter is the heart of the city. It’s an interactive outdoor complex that offers a living history of the Spanish and English settlers that helped establish St. Augustine more than 450 years ago. Historical reenactors provide up-close demonstrations of early American skills like blacksmithing and ship construction. A restaurant, pub, and gift shop are also on hand for food and souvenirs.

Go Behind Bars

Built in 1891, Old Jail served as St. Augustine’s primary correctional facility until 1953. Now it stands as a unique attraction where guests can learn fascinating facts about its historic importance. Visitors can tour the jail cells, check out period clothing and tools, and hear intriguing stories about some of the miscreants who once called it home. Tours happen every 20 minutes, 364 days per year (excluding Christmas Day).
